Dive into the heart of this soulful, African American art form, originating in the early 20th century alongside blues music in juke joints and rent parties, blues dancing is all about connection, groove, and attitude. As a partner dance, it emphasizes musicality and improvisation, allowing dancers to explore a wide range of rhythms, from slow and smooth to fast and funky. This workshop will teach you how to move with feeling and style, while understanding the rich cultural roots of the dance.
